Philodendron Care

Light:

Do best in bright, indirect light.  They can tolerate lower lighting, however their growth will slow in low light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight as it will scorch leaves.

Watering:

Allow the top 2" of the soil to dry before watering, and let excess water drain off to avoid root rot.

Humidity:

Higher humidity levels will keep this plant thriving.

Soil and Fertilizer:

A well draining potting mix is a must!  A mix of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark will keep the soil aerated and promote strong root growth. Fertilize in the spring/summer months every month with a half strength balanced liquid fertilizer.  In the fall and winter, fertilize every other month.

Temperature:

Maintain consistent temperatures between 65-80 degrees Fahrenheit.

Toxicity:

Mildly toxic to humans and pets.
